I'm always amazed at their ability to back test price action, patterns and seasonals. History rarely repeats itself but it most certainly rhymes and Nautilus Research's investment process has produced stellar returns in trending and volatile markets alike. My bias is to fade, Nautilus has time and again saved me from challenging momentum and catching a falling knife early. The team has decades of experience in quantitative markets and it shows in their predictive data analytics.
One of the joys of Substack is the knowledge that is past along from industry experts. Brazil Stocks is one such place as it is written by a former Morgan Stanley Equity Researcher with 20years of Brazil Stock Market Investing experience. I've found Brazil Stocks to do an excellent job writing about individual stocks, market cycles as well as the broader macro environment impacting Brazil.
Brent Donnelly has excelled himself once again, adding Friday Speedrun to his vast catalogue of publications (AM/FX, Alpha Trader, 50 Trades in 50 Weeks and the Art of Currency Trading). Friday Speedrun is a concise read, an excellent review of the trading week, that is packed full of the key drivers and themes that dominated global markets. Brent's natural style and decades of experience on the sell and buy side makes this piece an easy read and is always thought provoking.
As a trader who learnt his skills in FX and Fixed income markets, I find these pieces extremely informative, educational and entertaining. Afterall we read so much content, if you don't enjoy them its hard to return on a regular basis. This is not investment advice, but it has certainly expanded my investment horizon.
We can't say enough about how much we enjoy The Monday Morning Notes from The Blind Squirrel. Whether it's the diligent and honest review of the Acorn portfolio, the array of topics/themes from Australia, TLT, Mercedes-Benz, Crude, Doordash, Regulatory Arb, Private Equity Holdings, IPO's, Uranium etc etc or simply just the exemplary graphics. This content is a joy to read, provides a giggle or two and most importantly is extremely informative.
Given the complexity of modern-day finance, as multiple narratives fight for supremacy .... the simplicity, insightful and comprehensive summary of the day's best charts delivered by the Daily Chartbook is greatly appreciated. The curation really does deliver on the old adage that “A picture is worth a thousand words”. It blends a fantastic array of cross section macro and market data into a concise daily read.
It's rare to find someone so open about their trade ideas, review their recommendations as well as outline the lessons they've learnt from their drawdowns!
Free, independent and balanced approach with no hype. I came across this Substack in Q4 last year and have enjoyed the cross asset flavour as the author links together well the worlds of bonds, stocks, REITS, commodities and risk management. This is not a daily read but 2/3 times a month it provides an excellent snap shot of the macro world in plain English.
A fan favourite of HarksterHQ, it's been impressive to watch the consistency of his equity future trading style, discipline and core focus on process. Adam's concise daily newsletter offers accurate levels, actionable trading plans and insight into the art and science of trading from the perspective of a professional trader.
The BondBeat is written by an ex-sell side independent rate strategist and macro enthusiast that consumes much of the street’s research and synthesizes it into one extraordinary concise daily piece. It is an exceptionally consistent daily Substack that focuses on the key drivers and narratives of the fixed income markets.
Energy in the crypto space has reignited in 2023, aided by the Nasdaq's outperformance, the Fed's QT, EM devaluations led by ARS/TRY and the new AI infused world. Ecoinometrics navigates brilliantly both the world of traditional macroeconomics and the landscape of digital assets. This newsletter mirrors the essence of Harkster, with a focus on extracting the signal from the noise, separating what matters from what doesn't and to understand what really drives the mkt.
Maybe it’s just the fantastic memes that The MacroTourist opens with, but HarksterHQ always enjoys Kevin Muir's newsletter. His extremely honest approach is well defined by his favourite tag line ... "all I bring to the party is 25 years of mistakes". His cross-asset focus, concise synopsis and open-minded analysis to current market conditions is delivered without a bearish or bullish bias. He looks to highlight and share his best risk/reward trading and investing opportunities.
