This publication will focus on what's in the price for key events, what the consensus expects as well as a decision tree for potential dovish / hawkish outcomes, e.g. What does a hawkish outcome look like relative to consensus pricing in rates as well as vol markets. It will also highlight key sources/previews that have been curated in designated channels for each central bank event.
(Publication Time: 24 hours prior to the event)
A concise weekend read, recapping what the street consumed over the course of the week, which articles were of focus and which topics were researched. Macro narratives will be interwoven with recommended reading as well as “Top 10 reads of the past week” and "Top 5 podcasts of the past week".
(Publication Time: Sat 10:00am)
The Harkster Backstory
Working on the execution desk at a global macro hedge fund (alongside some Harkster co-founders), our role included continuously consuming relevant content to catch evolving narratives with minimal latency and generate real-time trade ideas.
The desk was inundated with research across different mediums. Time was often wasted searching inboxes for topical content, navigating algos and spam or asking on chats for content already received.
The hope that MiFID II would clear out inboxes to leave only paid-for or requested content did not materialise.
Since the introduction of MiFID II, third-party independent research has become more prominent, exacerbating the problem. The evolution of new mediums such as podcasts and Substack newsletters further adds to the volume.
We built the Harkster Research Platform to manage this ever-expanding research universe by bringing together quality content into a dedicated platform. Prime screen real estate for your research only, free of spam and algos. Curated into ready-made channels on key market narratives and drivers (CPI, Housing, ECB etc.), bespoke channels for preferred content (e.g. Week ahead) or keyword monitoring channels for evolving themes (e.g. debt ceiling).
At HarksterHQ, we continuously monitor these channels to alert you to the latest developing narratives through our newsletters and live commentary feed. We deliver daily analysis using decades of market experience to highlight what is moving and what matters, interlaced with recommendations for the highest quality content from our platform, offering deep dives into each topic.
